NAİL
ART
Originally from Dana Point, a city located in Orange
County, California, Natalie Minerva has lived in sunny Los Angeles for the past
seven years. During a trip to New York City in 2009, Natalie saw Japanese nail
art for the first time - at a DJ named Roxy Cottontail. "He has ice cream
on his nails and I think they are very cute and I NEED to have it!" Said
Natalie. He was addicted and became a diligent nail collector, experimenting
with different designs for fun. Shortly thereafter, he found himself dedicating
hours every day to nail art. Then, during an inspiring weekend at Coachella, he
called his father and told him that he quit college to go to cosmetology. Nail
Swag was born soon after that, in 2012.
Now at the age of 26, Natalie has a private banana-themed
nail studio in Chiquita in Silverlake, where she makes an appointment. He has
worked on a number of celebrity hands such as those of Paris Hilton, Ariana
Grande, and Ciara, creating a red carpet look and designs for music videos.
"The trends I love lately are iridescence and metal," Natalie said.
His latest inspiration included textile designs in the 1960s and 1970s. "I
have big plans for my future and I'm grateful to have a job that allows me to
create something every day," he said.
"This is what I call the‘ sampler platter. ’The nice
thing is that clients can get a little of everything. This type of manicure is
not for everyone because it is very hard, but true nail art enthusiasts love
this style."
"Occasionally, a refreshing-themed manicure. Here we
have Clueless / 90s themed nails. Black and white nails are also always
beautiful. "
"As far as prints go, I like seeing textiles from
the past few decades, especially the 20s, 60s, and 70s. Then I tried to give a
modern touch, like this monochromatic and neon manicure. "
"My most favorite inspiration is nature, so I like
to imitate certain textures like wood grain or opal. This is my opal version of
Lightning Ridge. "
